Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 Mini 8GB Overclocking

Our first step in overclocking this card was to set the power and temperature limits to their highest values: 120 percent and 92°C respectively. The card actually proved to be a strong overclocker, but in the end its frequency was ultimately power-limited, even with our 120 percent setting: We would add another 50MHz in an overclocking utility, but the boost speed fluctuated as the power limit came in and out and didn't increase by 50MHz. This is likely by design to stop the card from having to run its fans at ridiculous levels.

In the end, we settled on an overclock of 300MHz extra on the core, giving us a base clock of 1,920MHz and a boost clock of 2,059MHz. We're used to seeing cards boost way past their rated boost clocks, but in this instance things were closer to the base clock, rarely going above 2,000MHz. GPU-Z indicated that the performance was indeed being capped by the power limit.

The memory, meanwhile, was stable at 11Gbps, a solid 10 percent overclock.
